It's no secret Miranda Lambert is devoted to the dogs she's rescued over the years, and she encourages potential pet owners to check out their local rescue shelters when looking for a pet.

"People think shelters are scary places, but they're not like old-school dog pounds anymore," Miranda tells CMT.com. "They're really nice places to go find a great pet."
