2010 - Carrie Underwood performed her first concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with special guests Randy Travis and Orianthi.

2004 - Neal McCoy hosted his 10th annual benefit concert for the East Texas Angel Network in Longview.

1996 - George Strait won three trophies at the CMA Awards including Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Blue Clear Sky.

1991 - George H.W. Bush became the first president to attend the CMA Awards. Garth Brooks won four trophies including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year for No Fences.

1986 - The Everly Brothers got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

1972 - The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Will the Circle Be Unbroken album was released.
