A
FEW EXTRA TIDBITS
(More
than you could possibly want to know)
What
kind of name is "Jas"? It's
actually the abbreviation that's commonly used for "James",
and it's been what friends and family have called me for the
better part of two decades.
Where in
the world do you get the four o'clock follies questions? Those
come from a bunch of different places, and they all have a
couple of things in common. They have to be family-friendly,
they have to be things that you might already know or could
easily find out, and they have to be FUN! Look at the top
of this page for a link to the archives - if you missed an
answer, chances are that it's there!
Is
that really an early childhood picture of you reading that
nasty magazine? Nope...I never had a floral
print chair in my whole life. I've heard that Alan Reed has
a chair that looks suspiciously like that one...you'd better
ask him.
What made you decide to get
into radio? After years of doing something else,
I finally decided to follow the dream that I'd had since I
was really young. After three weeks of radio courses in a
community college I got the chance to work at a local station
part time, and I was hooked! I was doing radio full-time less
than a year later, and have never looked back once.
Tell us
more about the poor, tortured soul that is your bride: Her
name is Laura, and she's been my best friend and wife forever
it seems. She is the "normal" one in the family,
and without her we'd probably be living in a cave and eating
beetles. Laura has a real job, wears nice clothes, and even
has a college education! When folks hear her say her last
name, they usually ask "so you're THAT Laura?",
and darned if she doesn't usually deny knowing me. She also
teaches our daughter to use some really frightening words
and hand-gestures...and blames it on her innocent and misunderstood
husband.
Have you
got any good advice that you plan on passing along to future
generations? Yes, actually, there are two things
that I like to pass along. First, if you're going to argue
with a schizophrenic, you might want to avoid the question
"and just who the hell do you think you are?" Second,
you kids had better get down from there pronto, before someone
breaks their neck!
"Everybody
thinks of changing humanity and nobody thinks of changing
himself." Leo Tolstoy
"Some
days, I'm not even sure why I bother to chew through the restraints..."
- Not sure, but worth posting!

Samantha
Caffrey asked if she could be on Daddy's page, and
who can say no to those big blue eyes? Certainly not
me...here she is, working in the Quick Country Studio
one afternoon. |
